Chess: 5334 Problems, Combinations, and Games

That's the title of a book I purchased recently, by Laslo Polgar. He is famous for training his daughters to become among the best women chess players in history. I started working through the "Checkmate in One" Puzzles, and have completed about 200 of 344. Those are pretty quick puzzles. But then it moves on to 2 moves, 3 moves, and then some other kinds of situations. I have my chess table set up in my room, so sometimes I'll leave an interesting puzzle set up on the board.

I had a chance to play a former South Carolina state champion the other day. I lost, but it was inspiring anyways!
